I realized it is very hard to be funny in my writing because I don't think I have a great sense of humor. A funny word can make people go nuts for the story. It is all about how your humor flows throughout the story. There is nothing to be afraid of when you are expressing yourself in the story. Comedy should not be a genre, but an element to your story that ties it altogether. It is part of the process when creating your stories. You just have to stay true to your style of writing and incorporate your own humor in it, then people will understand it.
