Hanuman (image source from Wikipedia)
Hanuman is devoted to King Rama, husband of Sita. Sita has been
captured by Ravana and Rama sends out Hanuman to find her. Hanuman is not
satisfied with his journey in Lanka in finding Sita, so he makes a scene in the
forest to be arrested.
He runs through the forest and destroying trees, Ashoka grove,
and pavilions, where it looked like the wind just blew everything away. The
maneaters, known as rakshasis, notified Ravan and claimed that a monkey was destroying
the forest and his servants.
Ravana sent Jumbumali to kill Hanuman, and his specialty was
bow and arrow- which failed and killed himself. He sent Prince Aksha and failed
then died. The next person he sent was Indrajit, ended up being an awful
battle. There were millions of shafts sent from the sky and targeted towards the
monkey, but he escaped them all. He realized that Hanuman could not be harmed
by weapons because he was a spiritual creature, so he sent a Brahma shaft.
Hanuman got captured with the Brahma shaft and knew it was
unbreakable, so he fell to the ground. He did not struggle to break the bond
because it would be a way for him to see Ravana. He knew the more they tried to
put bonds and cords on him, it would eventually release him. Hanuman
showed no struggles of the bonds or it being loose, so it all broke at once.
The rakshasas were indignant how strong he was and tried to
burn him. Nothing could have destroyed him and Hanuman eventually escaped.
