Mayasura built a palace that he promised to build for the Pandavas. He was known for being the architect of the demons. He owned gold and gems stored up on the Himalayas that were guarded by yakshas and rakshasas. It took Maya fourteen months to build a palace that gems looked like they were on fire.

The palace was known to be one of the most impressive building. It was so impressive that it was comparable to palaces like Indra, Yama, Varuna, Kubera, and Brahma. Maya had eight thousand rakshasas to be guards of the palace.

King Duryodhana came to the palace one day and made ignorant mistakes. He mistaken a crystal surve for a pool of water, so his clothes were drenched. He continued to explored the mansion in embarrassment and made more mistakes. He mistaken lake of crystal water with crystal petals for land, and he fell into the water.

Both Bhima, Arjuna, and the twins were laughing out loud in front of Duryodhana which upsetted him. He could not bear their laughter and refused to look at them. As he was trying to crossover for dry land, it was mistaken for water again. They all laughed at Duryodhana again.
